Two rectangular tubes are positioned one on the other. A small sword is passed between two holes in the tubes obstructing the possibility that objects can pass from one tube to the other.
The magician then drops a die in the upper tube. The die can be heard to knock against the sword. He makes a magical gesture, raises the two tubes and strikes them down on his open left hand. The die, magically, will penetrate the sword and fall into the magician’s hand!
The trick is repeated a second time. However, this time the cube does not seem to penetrate the sword. After trying a couple of times, the magician takes off the upper tube and realizes why… now the cube is penetrated by the sword!
